My name is Saira González. I was born in Chiapas, Mexico, and immigrated to the United States when I was 10 years old. I am a single mother of two girls, 14 and 12, who are my greatest motivation to continue fighting in this life.

My life was never easy. At 8 years old, I suffered abuse at the hands of a family member, and at 15, I had to start working because my mother was also a single mother and had to support four children. My older brother and I started working at an early age to help with expenses.
